Simon started his career over 40 years ago and he has worked for many of the multi-national construction companies in the UK, both in building and civil engineering. Having started as a trainee Quantity Surveyor, he quickly progressed through the ranks, becoming Commercial Director at the age of 38 and has thereafter continued in that role.
He has been associated with a wide range of projects across multiple sectors, including commercial offices, hotels, leisure centres, schools, universities, hospitals, retail parks, high rise residential, Industrial units, rail, heavy civil engineering, tunnelling, water sewerage plants, student accommodation, PRS, social housing and conservatoires.
This diversification in project types and values, has enhanced Simon’s understanding and appreciation of the construction process, in the challenges that the industry faces, both operationally and commercially and the solutions that present themselves.
Having been responsible for large numbers of staff in work winning, supply chain and commercially, Simon understands the softer skills that are needed to obtain the best output from individuals, whilst maintaining the structure and rigor required to run a successful business.
Simon’s management style is clear, concise, pragmatic, no nonsense, results focussed, whilst maintaining integrity and professionalism. Building long lasting relationships is a key driver for him, such that those difficult conversations that some people avoid, can be had, where we have a problem to solve.
